Using Integration by Parts

Integration by parts for definite integrals follows the same rule with bounds.

abu(x)v(x)dx=[u(x)v(x)]ababu(x)v(x)dx.\int_a^b u(x) v'(x) \, dx = [u(x) v(x)]_a^b - \int_a^b u'(x) v(x) \, dx.

应用例子

01xexdx\int_0^1 x e^x dx
u=x, v=exu=1, v=exu=x,\ v'=e^x \Rightarrow u'=1,\ v=e^x.
01xexdx=[xex]0101exdx=1\int_0^1 x e^x dx = [x e^x]_0^1 - \int_0^1 e^x dx = 1.
